Today is the first day of school since the holidays! No count for JCTs. It's back to the lectures and tutorials again, this time with additional lectures in the afternoon for different subjects. That means, I end about 4+ or 5+ everyday! I'll be looking forward to after NAPFA test, when there are no more group PEs and I can finally have an early day! But then, there wun be anymore class games together, that is unless the class wants to play... Actually school's not that bad la..with so many good friends (and some eccentric ones like Farah who was trying to imagine school as a musical), learning new things together is kinda exciting in another light.
Like the Physics practical today. It was meant as a fun practical, meaning we dun have to study it or anything, just experiment with smth we've never done before. And boy was it really smth I've never seen before. Some zenon stroboscope and sonometer experiment..sounds like some alien language haha. I shall not go into details or I'll really be speaking alien. I guess that's the last practical we'll be having, given that all our SPAs are now over. (Yes!)
Anyway, the bbq at Dennis' place last Sat was probably one of the most fun bbqs I've had, although part of food planning was dedicated to me. We decided to shop for stuff at E!Hub's NTUC..and it's was actually my first time at that NTUC even though it's just like 5 min's walk from my house? Haha. Oh yeah, Bryce and Daniel, if you're reading this, I DO NOT have maternal instincts ok! Calling me MOM makes me sound old lol. I just happen to do more grocery shopping than you guys. The rest came later to help carry the stuff and it was a 8-ppl strong team bringing the food all the way to Dennis' place. On the bus to his place, an old Indian lady beside me started chatting with me and she said she was going to Rivervale too..but she didn't mention it was Rivervale DRIVE and not Rivervale LINK, so we got down the same bus stop as her since she offered to bring us to the condo. In the end, we were actually short of a few more stops to Dennis' place. Sorry guys..made you get down at the wrong stop haha. We took a taxi there eventually.
The sight of the swimming pool greeted us the moment we entered the condo., but the bbq pit was at the back of some other condos. I really like the narrow walkway to the bbq pit man..with the trees by the side, the shadiness and the wind blowing, there's a touch of nature there which is so seldom seen in this city of infrastructures.
Anyway, we started preparing food and even Edwin who didn't know what to do and said "too many cooks spoil the brooth" (--oops broth. Haha!) chipped in here and there. That's why I really like this bbq. Everybody had a hand in it and I duno if anybody noticed, but the teamwork was really there. We finished the amount of work which would take 2 ppl 2 hours in about 45min i think. Plus I guess everyone had some fun in helping to prepare.
After that we went swimming and the guys did funny things, like trying to stand on top of each other? Later we challenged each other to see who can swim underwater water the furthest and I didn't do too bad actually..but Dennis got furthest, followed by Ed, then me! Haha..consolation prizes to Bryce and Harshan lol. Dan was mia coz of his accident proneness..how did you manage to cut ur feet leh? But then again, the tiles weren't that user-friendly also. Later on, Bryce had leg cramps coz he swam too vigorously. (Eh he lied to me said he can't swim! The skills suddenly came to him. Haha.) Looks like swimming is quite a dangerous sport lol. Then we raced each other the breadth of the swimming pool..Ed and Harshan raced freestyle then me and Ed raced frogkick. Lost to him miserably..he still can stand up and slowly walk to the end. But hey, my freestyle won his frogkick and I was just a little behind him for freestyle haha.
After that was just eating and bbqing and chatting. Then they started drinking..and poor Jeremy was made drunk again..like the previous DP bbq haha. The funniest was Derrick..a bit high already then keep telling me he's not drunk, but purposely call me by the wrong name. He couldn't even walk straight when we were going back lol. In the end, the security guard had to ask us to leave coz we were making too much noise..and it ended too soon I felt. Just as well..since the west side people stay so far away. Sharmaine's mum was very nice to fetch the pasir ris people back, but 5 of us had to squeeze behind. But I'm still grateful for that..coz we didn;t have to wait for buses haha. Thanks Sharmaine and Sharmaine's mum!
It was a really great bbq and I really had a lot of fun! Thnaks Dennis for booking the pit too!
Ok..time for dinner!
If life gives you lemons, make lemonades--And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years---Do not take life too seriously;you will never get out of it alive--To love and win is the best thing. To love and lose, the next best--Variety is the spice of life--Life doesn't require that we be the best, only that we try our best--Life's problems wouldn't be called "hurdles" if there wasn't a way to get over them--Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.

Tmr's the last paper! And it's Physics. A subject I'm not so good at. Ok actually it's kinda easy to grasp concepts and understand them, if more time is given. And time is what we're seeming to lack most of the time. Confused? Haha..me too. I'm just rambling on and on..must be exam high that just removes the sensible part of one's brain due to too much studying and regurgitating. My thinking actually slowed?! That's why too much studying is bad for one. Ok that's just Ellyn's hypothesis, not proven yet.
Anyway, just came online to distract myself. I'm not really prepared for Physics, but that's just myself to blame for not managing my time properly during the hols. And see what I found! It's actually a joke about speaking without first thinking and it's really hilarious! I just took some parts of it though. (A great way to exercise your abs!):
I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow
and asked loudly,
'How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?'
I turned around and walked back out and never went back
My husband didn't say a word...
he knew better.
I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls.
I was unhappy with the women's type I had been using.
After browsing for several minutes,
I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store.
He asked if he could help me.
Without thinking, I looked at him and said, 'I think I like playing with mens' balls.
My sister and I were at the mall and
passed by a store that sold a
variety of candy and nuts.
As we were looking at the display case,
the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help.
I replied, 'No, I'm just looking at your nuts.'
My sister started to laugh hysterically.
The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away.
To this day,
my sister has never let me forget.
This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days
and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will,
in the future, likely think before she speaks.
What happens when you predict snow but don't get any!
We had a female news anchor that,
the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't,
turned to the weatherman and asked:
'So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?'
Not only did HE have to leave the set,
but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!
The puffer fish's just for laughs, to fit this post. Ah..it's feels good to laugh so much once in a while. Hope you all had a great laugh reading this. Time for me to sleep! Sayo!
Well...Judgement day is just looming around the corner!! Okok it's not A levels yet, just JCTs. Guess there may be some people looking forward to it, since it is one of the checkpoints along the A level route to determine how far one has gone.
And here I am, in front of the com this morning before the CT, blogging. Haha. Think I'll just finish up revision for math during the day and stone in front of the tv tonight, watching sutucd(so you think you can dance). No use cramming things before the exams since it wun get in. I sound relaxed right? Wrong. Ytd had a hard time sleeping coz of so many things running through my head. Or maybe it's just the effect of doing Math before sleeping. I wish the song playing right now would be what I think after I get my results back. Or maybe not haha.
Argh I hate exam periods. Miss family time, miss fencing, miss running around, miss day-dreaming, miss activities. miss fun! Tell me again why S'pore's education system is reputed as the best.
3 more days to JCTs! And I haven't covered everything. Great. Sometimes I really want to curse and swear (except that I dun) at the education system. The realisation struck me that day that all we do is understand and memorise the 'standard' answer..we dun really put what we learn into application (or maybe it's just me). It's only during one of those rare chances that I do smth and then 'Ooh this is what I learn in class!' that I truly understand wadever we're studying. Do you know Finnish kids are the smartest so far in the world? They start schooling only at 7-years-old..and they're still enjoying teenager life and stuff. Read here if you want to know more: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120425355065601997.html
Compare this with S'pore. There's this girl who's only 6-years-old and is probably even busier than me during school hols. http://www.straitstimes.com/STI/STIMEDIA/pdf/20080601/victoria.pdf
http://www.straitstimes.com/Free/Story/STIStory_243250.html
This is plain scary..I'm lucky my parents didn't believe in so many classes at such a young age for me and my bro. I was still running around the playground playing 'Blind mice' when I was Pri 6 haha. Ok enough about education. What's more important is learning and getting to use the knowledge isn't it?
Time to go study soon again..lucky ytd had trng which did help in destressing haha. But I guess I wun be trng next week ba..most probably will see you guys again only on Saturday. JCTs..Prelims..A levels. Argh..it's almost like O levels once again. Only much much more to study.
Btw, I've changed the song now, to the request of someone who said the previous songs made one sian. Haha..okok it's nice to have a change too. Enjoy!
After 3 days of revision revision and revision, I cannot fathom how people can sit there for a whole day and just study revise study revise. It can drive one crazy man..unless it's your fav subject la..like how I can keep on reading Othello haha. The kan chiong-ness is catching up..just 6 days more to my first paper. GP and Math TOGETHER on the first day! Aishah said today smth about using left brain for Math and right brain for GP..if it's really true then I think I'll be brain-dead by the end of the day. Then Chem and Lit on the 2nd days..another 2 big papers. Lucky there's only Physics to close JCTs. Good and bad I guess..bad that it's not spaced out enough for rest, but good that we finish and get done with it sooner. Kinda cramped schedule..but that wun happen for As.
Anyway, today went to see Mr Lim for Math. 5 people arranged to meet him and in the end only me and Aishah turned up. The rest were busy and in Jun Ying's case, ill. Get well soon girl! Managed to clarify some doubts, but when Mr Lim heard I haven't covered so many topics he dropped his watch (on the table) haha. Well..stats is kinda ok for me just that need more time for the rest ba.
Ok time to go sleep. Tmr wake up and STUDY again! Life of a student...
Wohoo! I'm back from competitions! And the good news is.....our team got gold! Yes! I'm so happy happy lol. Especially the anchor bout with Nelicia. Actually our team had a lead which narrowed and got overtaken before catching up with them again, so I had a 2 or 3 point lead when I fenced Nelicia. I admit I was nervous, but taking deep breaths does help, although I stupidly lost 2 points coz I lowered my blade. This is also the first time smth else happened: I shouted. But I doubt anyone heard coz Nelicia's screaming definitely covered mine. It feels damn good actually..I never knew that haha. When the score drew to a nail-biting 44-44, I did feel panic before the 'allez', but it was only for a fleeting second before I got the last point. We won! It's like a release and an explosion of happy feelings and disbelief that you won. Eve and Ras came and hugged me followed by the 'little girls' (our juniors hehe). But we couldn't have won without the team effort and encouragement we gave each other, and I must say a big 'thank you!' to Eve and Ras! We earned it yeah!
My indiv wasn't that good though..lost to Nelicia in semi 15-11. Was stoning the first part when she got 7-0. That was the mistake I guess..nvm that wun happen again the next time we meet in competititons. Anyway, congrats to those who won in indiv or in team! To those who didn't do as well as expected, dun give up! There's always a next time! And to those fencing Cadet next week, good luck!
Ok now that competitions are over, I guess it's time to settle down and immerse myself in notes and books. I haven't really sit myself down and revise for JCTs since the start of the holidays =P The clock is ticking..the sand is running. I think I'll be lucky enough to pass haha. Oops can't think that way. Ok gambete! Hello mugger Lyn! Think I wun be blogging for some time now..time to afk haha.
I finally found the song to the movie! It's "The Call" by Regina Spektor. Really nice..can't get tired of the song haha.
This will be just a short post. It's a cooling Wednesday afternoon, after one whole night of raining yesterday. Shiok weather to sleep in actually. Ok gtg see said it's a short post haha. Tata!
Just some photos from college clean up day and Mardi Gras..

I bet we all smelled like detergent that day.

Makers of the dwarf hats! This is one colourful picture.

Now with the name tags and me!
The end product.
I dun feel like sleeping yet, so just decided to blog for a while. Hmm...tmr one whole day of studying since I can't walk around much with my leg wrapped like a ba zhang. Hey it coincides with 端午节now haha. Coz today I went to see my sinseh and he wrapped it very nicely..said it's a slight ligament tear (I had no idea it was that bad) but hopefully can get better in time for Friday's comp. Seriously, I need some mental trng. Help~
Ok I shall talk about Friday's Sentosa trip. I didn't know they were setting off in the afternoon instead, so me and Eve went down to PRCS like 9+ in the morning. In the end we wandered around central and had breakfast. I had my fav mee jiang kueh! And coffee which Eve thought was too thick and bitter haha.
The bus came around 12 and it's kinda nice being the seniors, when you go see the juniors gathering, doing head count and stuff and you get reminded of the time when you were back in secondary school. The other seniors there were Cheryl (if going to sports school count as having graduated), Wen Xin and Eugene..then Roxanne came later. We reached Vivo, had lunch, then set off for Sentosa.
The 'Crestians' did water-based trng and quite a lot of running on the sand, while we seniors played volleyball and monkey. Haha that's the good thing about being seniors. Actually I would have joined them had my event been on Sunday. After that was a bit of lazing around and getting wet. I dun like this part..dun like beach waters haha. Coz you have no idea wad's lurking around in the depths of the water, and after my duno-wad sting (most probably jellyfish) the other time, I dun have a good impression of beach waters. Then Eve and Wen Xin tried to pull me into the water lo. Can say I didn't give them an easy time lol..two people and they still asked the juniors to drag me into the water. So I hung onto the rope bridge until I had rope burn, and they finally got me soaking wet. As if that wasn't enough, Wen Xin wanted Mr Neo wet too, but Mr Neo hung onto his valuable bag and we didn't get a chance. Aww shucks.
We had some fun at volleyball with Ms Oh and Ms Lim in opposing teams before going to bathe, stopping the volleyball only coz we didn't have enough time. Dinner was at Central with the teachers and seniors and I had some sausage and yam fried rice. It's like salt is free..shan't say more =x later the restuarant manager come after me.
Lucky that day wasn't a hot day, so none of us really got burnt, just tired perhaps. I really admire those who went for NYAA silver camp, then fencing camp, and then had comp the next day. I applaud you..you all really have stamina. We saw a orange and black lamboghini on our way back in the bus though. The guys got so excited..it's just a car after all. But actually I agree, it's damn cool haha.
Later when we reached PRCS, it was free time! Goodness knows wad the sec 3 guys were doing in their bunks that Yi Huan said she saw something she's not supposed to see lol. Ok la not that serious..they were just entertaining themselves. That sounds wrong. Ok it's not wad you're thinking from the way it sounds. Then we seniors just sat outside the hall (coz the hall was locked) waiting for Mr Neo to come back for his photoshoot. In the end he changed his mind and didn't have it, so some of us went back home. Duno wad happened after that, although I heard stories from my bro about 'things'. Hmm...best not to talk about it here.
Ok pictures from sentosa!
Breifing at Sentosa: Palawan Beach (oops like a bit tilted). Reflection
The 四大美树 of Vivocity.
It looks like a stone whirlpool.
You jump I jump?
The lights were flashing around the time in the bus, so I thought it was quite interesting haha.
Oh yeah another thing. I saw this butterfly at my unit's corridor and it was really weak alrd. Tried saving it with nectar from the plants, but guess it was futile. In loving memory of the butterfly I knew just today...
Ok gota sleep alrd. Seems like I'm always ending off to go to sleep. Which is not good coz that means I'm sleeping too late! Tmr will be a day of studying..Jia you!
Have you ever tried watching a movie with your best friend and her sisters? Well that was what I did on Thursday when Eve, her 2 sisters, Bryce and I went to catch Narnia: Prince Caspian at E!Hub. It was my first time there since the time it was constructed and actually, there's nothing much there except for restuarants, fast food chains and well, entertainment. There's a bowling alley, pool place, cinema and the mini ferris wheel which I think is quite weird since everybody can see you going round and round while shopping or eating.
The cinema's not bad, but I still prefer Vivo's GV's cuchioned armrests haha. This movie's not bad too! I'll probably give it a rating of 4/5. The effects are good..and I like the fact that it brings you back to the fantasy world where good will always truimph against evil (have I mentioned this before? Sounds so familiar). And I would have enjoyed the movie more had the little boy beside me not taken out his shoes.
Actually the movie's really really nice. I recommend it to those who haven't watch it yet. Go watch it for yourself ba dun want to spoil it here for you. I love the ending song...probably composed especially for the movie. Her voice reminds me of a singer..forgot her name and too tired to rmb alrd haha. Anyone who knows the title to that song let me know please? ~It started out as a feeling....
Actually I wanted to talk about the fencing camp, or rather just the sentosa trip, but it's getting late. Another time then! Night!
Did this morning's rain bode ill? Was the weather foretelling the outcome of today's National Individual C'ships? Ok la lol..I sound so serious. It didn't went well for me though. Everything and some things I guess. Not making sense. Some parts were good..but overall was bad. The sparined ankle in my first bout with Noelle didn't help much either. Lucky Edwin brought me the Yoko yoko from FS if not I duno how I was gona survive round robin. Thanks Ed! I didn't believe in such pain relivers and stuff, but now I think I'm gona invest in one haha.
I duno why..it's just today my distance and speed seemed weird. Too much preparation too. Haiz this is the outcome of stoning too much. Even against Ann I wasn't thinking I guess..that's why got trashed by her. History repeats itself once again..I still rmb the last time it happened when I was sec 4. This time, there's no more Mr Neo to ask me to reflect, but even coach didn't talk to me after that. Probably angry ba..but I'm also fed up that he left me there clueless about why I lost. I know this kinda thing must learn on your own, but I need coach's guidance too right? Not saying anything to me leaves me not understanding which equals to making the same mistake again next time. In the end, I asked Joseph and Bryce instead and I realised a few of my recurring flaws. I just duno why I dun get 'hot' enough..almost all the sabreurs there yell. I just havent reached that level haha.
Eve didn't make it into top 4 too. Eve ah you know you can win one lo. But nvm dun pressurize her alrd..she fell down during the last few crucial points with Lewina. So today DP had two casualties haha. I think this is the worst ankle sprain I've gotten so far lo..both sides of the ankle swollen. I used to pride myself on never spraining any part before..but oversight makes one careless sometimes. Just hope that it'll be ok in time for Juniors next week ba.
After the women's sabre finals, we joined the epeeists at Sumo House for Tunch? Suprising that they were still chatting there after probably an hour plus coz we thought they had left. I finally tried something different! The curry udon..and it's quite nice, although I dun really fancy thick noodles, but I like the curry. Those guys really know how to enjoy..while we sabreurs were finishing our food, they went to the nearby Mac to have ice-cream. Actually quite shiok also..with the breeze after the rain and the comfortable seats and good frens...
I can't say I've gotten much out of today, but I've learnt a few things. Start thinking! And come Juniors next week, it's gona be different.
I'm just really really shag now. Woke up at 8am coz my niece came over since her grandma isn't feeling well. Then had breakfast, packed newspapers, mopped floor, helped my grandma with preparations for making dumplings (which included laying newspapers on the floor, getting stools, washing dishes, etc,), went downstairs 3 times to give dumplings and take care of the little one.
I'm just back from trng! Today Mr Istvan (the new epee coach) came down and he greeted me with a really firm handshake. He still could rmb me and Eve from that time when we went for trng at Europe! And he said Mr Geza's doing fine..I kinda miss him, his grandfatherly figure and warmth. Anyway, I saw the epeeists doing warm up which reminded me of trng back at Europe and I really wanted to join them! Nowadays warm up at trngs are not as thorough since the previous epee coach left. Foilists, sabreurs and epeeists used to do warm up together. Well, now that Mr Istvan is back and the epeeists are coming back too, things might change.
Individual lesson was short today most probably coz quite many sabreurs turned up today. I fenced Naz after that and really, this is the first time I pushed myself (and still failed in the end). I was panting alrd and didn't have strength to fence fast, but the fact that I'm losing hit after hit to Naz irked me and gave me the motivation. We weren't counting points, just free-fencing, but he won so many more hits than me. I duno where his new-found speed came from, and all my parries were mild or my distance was wrong coz he was too fast. It was this mounting frustration that almost made me shout out in anger. This is the first time I've come so close to yelling, having never done that before..and I discovered what it really feels like now, that suspressed indignence and the yearn to score a point becoz you dun want to lose. I know it's not right to let it run wild, coz it's supposed to be on a slow boil, not boiling over the pot, like wad Mr Wong said for sabreurs' temperament.
Anyway, something happened when I was online ytd. Dun want to blog about it here..all I want to say is I'm totally shocked. Flabbergasted. Dropped a bombshell on. You get it. But I've managed to clear the air, those who knew what happened. Haha. Other than that, I had quite a long chat with my senior, who is currently in civil defense and assigned a job which no one in their wildest dreams would've guessed, given his physique (assuming that he really did all the pt he claimed to do..okok I believe him haha). Nice catching up with him though..once a senior always a senior? Wait till you come back and let your junior beat you in fencing haha.
Last saturday I went for trng too and missed Ms Choo's wedding as a result. Congrats to you Ms Choo! Or should I say Mrs Tan? My best wishes to you and your husband! However, I lost something on that same day too and emo-ed the whole train ride back. It was a silver chain and a pendant, the silver chain being bought by my mum just about a week ago, and the pendant holding sentimental value for me. Me la..itchy hand, took it out and kept it in my bag before trng coz I didn't want the chain to tarnish and break easily. Then after I reached Clementi central, I realised I couldn't find it. I still held on to the hope that it'll be at Tss, that I've dropped it there somewhere, and I'll find it the moment I get there. Bryce was kind enough to follow me all the way back to look for it. Thanks man buddy..and thank you people for helping me one way or another. But sad, I still cannot find it (until now) and that was when the fact that I lost it truly set in. Haiz...why do people have to lose things before they truly appreciate it? The thing is I really appreciated it and I still lost it. Am I supposed to learn something from this? Yeah dun wear necklaces for trngs haha.
I guess loss is just part and parcel of life..no matter how cliche this sounds, I think life is really like a jigsaw puzzle. Sometimes, pieces go missing, and you just have to improvise and fill it in the gap with something else, accepting that that piece may not be as perfect as the previous one. How your puzzle turns out in the end depends on how interesting you make it out to be, how you perceive life to be.
That day I was walking home through Pasir Ris town park after a rain, and suddenly this flower just dropped from the tree. Then another dropped again, this time into the longkang by the side, unwanted. It was then that I noticed the wet ground was strewn with pink-tinged flowers, and it occured to me that life can be so fragile sometimes. Like the flowers' case, just one rainstorm and that's the end of their lifespan. But one has to accept the laws of nature I guess; there's still life after death, and the flowers will serve as fertilisers for the grass and trees, and the cycle goes on...
It's quite refreshing to reflect like that once in a while. I realised I've been so busy that I've forgotten how I used to do this? Ok ba it's getting really early and I've gota make dumplings a few hours later.
P.S. Did I mention that my grandma makes the best kee zhang ever? I tried one this afternoon and it's reeeeeeeeaaally good! Haha! Good night!
Do you know how much work goes into making one small dumpling which can be finished in a few bites? I used to take this kinda things for granted, until today when I helped my grandma with the preparations for 端午节. Everything used to be done by her alone in the past, but age is ctaching up with her, and it's time for me to learn a skill or two also, so I can teach my children next time too haha. Ok, that's a bit too far into the future.
I just tried ice-skating today! Haha not that I haven't ice-skated before (my first being at the open air one in Europe), just that this is the first time I'm skating in S'pore. I went with my mum's students, since she had some health and fitness camp in school and have to bring the students to Kallang leisure park for this. Guess what? The girl under attachment at my mum's school (and therefore under my mum), shared the same primary school as me! No wonder I found her so familiar when I saw her today.
Anyway, it was like a day at my mum's job kinda thing..following my mum around, watching her get her students going, making calls, etc. Lucky she didn't have to scold them before leaving the school or else my eardrums would've burst..I dun have to be her student to know how loud she can go haha. Reaching Kallang leisure park, I got my first glimpse of the ice-skating ring. It's about the same as the one at Jurong, probably slightly bigger, but just as cold. Fortunately, it wasn't that crowded; there was still space to skate around. At first I saw some couple skating, or rather, one teaching the other how to skate, then the more I looked, the more familiar they seemed. Until I realised that I was looking at Liesl and Wei Wen! Shocking haha...coz I go anywhere also dun see them, but today actually saw them at such a nearby place. It's a small world after all.
If you want to skate, I suggest bringing your own gloves and socks, coz buying them there will be $2 each...tt's how they earn I guess. But other than that, it's really really fun. I havent tried the Jurong one though, so duno how it compares to that, but skating's a great experience! It's like my 2nd time skating only? But I dun rmb the first being like that. Guess that time I was struggling to keep my balance instead. Skating's like rollerblading, but minus the friction you get from the ground. Ok skating's like a 100times better than rollerblading coz you just glide. Plus a small shift of your weight can make a big turn..really amazing. I was suprised that I could do turns and stuff..but I fell once coz I went too fast heheh. Nose running and feet numb, I left the ring one and a half hour later, but I dun mind skating another time though. Any takers?
I din get to explore the place much coz I ended up eating toast at the food court with my mum after that. It was quite empty...maybe just start of school holidays and the place is new. Then again, E!Hub is new but there's already so many people walking around there everytime I pass by. Hmm..who knows? Kallang leisure park is a bit out of the way I guess.
The bus came and the students took some time deciding which bus to board, so I finally saw my mum in action shouting at students. Haha not that I'm a sadist la enjoy seeing them scolded by my mum, but it's a long time since I 've seen her do that. I dozed off on the bus back, then reached mum's school, had nothing to do, so I started packing her table. A teacher's table never neat haha. I managed to revive her forlorn-looking money plant and threw away some expired cup-a-soup. Looks like I made myself useful there..eh Ma how you gona thank me? Haha just kidding I actually enjoy packing up the place for her.
After that not much alrd...got home, cleaned up the lovebirds cage and had dinner. My mum and bro are both away for camp (nope not the same camp; my bro's having nyaa silver camp), so the house'll be quite quiet the next few days. Guess it'll be a good time to study too. See everything also think about studies...my gosh where's life? Well...guess I believe in working hard, but also playing hard.
Ok better sleep alrd...tmr I have to give wake up call. To SOMEONE who always manages to sleep till late into the afternoon haha. Duno how to accomplish that though..it's a skill! Okok good night(morning)!
I'm back from Changi! Heheh I went there for a swim though, not wad you're thinking. The whole morning's been a dreary weather, raining, drizzling, pouring, then back to drizzling again. Oh tian ah...why you like to make fun of people? I was sitting there doing some revision and glancing out of the window every few minutes to see if the rain has stopped. Yesterday I've already decided to go swimming today then give me this kinda weather. But luckily it stopped raining abt 11+, so I chen ji quickly took a bus down to Changi civil service club for a swim.
Nice weather although the water a bit chilly. Haha I managed to swim 15 laps! First time! But the pool is half the normal size, so it's like 30 times up and down. Well, it's a change from the usuall soaking I'll do with my mum, but she didn't go today, so I had all the time to myself swimming laps.
After bathing, I sat at the table provided to revise Gas Laws haha. Plus my mee jiang kueh I bought earlier(did I mention how good the mee jiang kueh at the hawker centre is?) and the occasional sea breeze from the beach, it is the perfect place for studying. Seriously I've never tried this until today and it's really enjoyable! Nothing to distract you except for the radio and the sea scenary nearby. Hmm...I should go there more often, maybe my motivation to study coming back...
I took a walk at the beach too, somewhere near the jetty, coz I just felt like walking haha. Yeah I know it's kinda weird walking there alone. Usually people go there as a group or something, but it's good too have some alone time too sometimes. It's really very relaxing, but of course if you go there thinking about what work's not done, it defeats the purpose of going there in the first place. I took some photos there...maybe I should pursue my interest in photography after my As haha. Bai Mr Neo wei shi since his photography skills are so good. Then take up photojournalism..well,that's just a thought. I can't make up my mind what I want to do yet.
Photos from the relaxing walk!!
Boat leaving the jettyIt was the sky that captured me, but my lousy 2mp camera couldn't capture the effect
One day I want to try standing in the water and fishing like that!
Lalangs! I hoped I captured the against the background effect.
I like this one: Waves created at the jetty
Well, that's all for the walk by Changi beach.
Revision's pretty slow for me now...I duno why. Perhaps that sense of urgency haven't caught up with me yet? Haiz...time to buck up! June holidays will fly by really quickly and it'll be JCTs before you know it. Wake up Lyn!
Ok gota help prepare dinner already. Will be back with another post. Tata!
